Grand Canyon
National Park, 10-16
The terrain
along the highway to Grand Canyon changed dramatically as we went up: from
mountains covered with desert scrub, to boulder strewn hills, to flat, dry
grasslands dotted with dwarf evergreens.
We arrived at
the south rim of Grand Canyon shortly before sunset and were
transfixed, unable to leave even after it got dark.
A full moon
over the canyon.
We will not have internet access for a couple of days, but will be back again asap.
Enjoy your time at the Grand Canyon. In fact, 'Grand' seems too small a word for it--your pictures hint at the mighty presence of a deep and wild power. I love the one with the birds, and also the moon, and also the fading light, and the colors just before twilight, and I could go on and on.
ReplyDeleteWe agree--grand is too small a word. In fact, we keep finding that our words almost trivialize what we see. We like your words best so we have used them to introduce today's blog entry--giving proper credit, of course!
