Gold Hill, OR, 10/1

We're tired of being wet and cold, so today we made a mad dash for California.  Tonight we sleep in a camper cabin only 30 miles from our goal.  We pulled off the interstate at Gold Hill, Oregon, site of the "Oregon Vortex," an area of purported paranormal activity.  So far everything appears to be quite normal-normal, except for that yellow globe in the sky.  Oh yeah, that's the sun!

We didn't use the camera today, but here are a few photos we like but did not include in past posts.

Our favorite camping cabin.

The Great Step Pyramid in Deadwood, South Dakota.

A street musician in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.

For all you 20-somethings who've never seen one, this is a functioning telephone booth.

An Italian produce vendor at Pikes Market in Seattle discussing the finer points of making prosciutto.

Travel Tip:  When hiking, never disturb or surprise large animals that can run faster than you--such as an elk. You'll know elk are nearby when you see...
