And now for a pop quiz: While we're all familiar with corn (and Jim's thinking here of his favorite Uncle Dale who was known affectionately as "Cob"), when is corn not a delicious food? Answer: When you're standing at a traffic light post in Mitchell, SD,
or when you're in rapture at Mitchell's Corn Palace!
Every year the good folks in Mitchell transform the exterior of an exhibition hall into a three-dimensional, undulating wonderland--using ONLY corn and other grains (including the stalks) grown in South Dakota. VERY cool! (Kudos to our friends Helen and Bruce for sending us here.)
