Yellowstone National Park, 9/16
After the tent and camping cabins, our cabin at Yellowstone felt luxurious; no picnic table and fire ring here.  Just a lodge for cabin residents with a cafeteria…

… and a porch overlooking Yellowstone Lake.

Not far from our lodge was a lakeside area with several small geysers.  Tradition holds that Native Americans caught fish in the lake and then “cooked” the fish in these two boiling geysers.

The bottom of Yellowstone Lake is littered with active geysers and vents.

Another hot pool with the bleached white bones of a small animal.

Our last views of Yellowstone.

Safe-hiking Tip:  When hiking in bear country, always carry a can of bear spray.  When using the spray on a charging bear, first determine wind direction; otherwise, you’ll have two problems.
